Richard F. Gafgen

GAFGEN, RICHARD F. 91, of Tuckerton, N.J., passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at home.  He was born in Trenton, N.J., residing there prior to moving to Tuckerton.  Richard worked as a painting contractor for Local #301, Trenton for many years.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and had a passion for cats.  He volunteered at Habitat for Humanity, and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City.  Richard was predeceased by his wife Loreta A. Gafgen, along with siblings Bill, Bobby, Andy, Thomas, Marie, Jean, and Betty.  He is survived by his son Richard Gafgen Jr. (Chris), of Levittown, PA., daughter Debbie Gafgen, of Lugoff, S.C., son Kevin Gafgen (Sandy), of Browns Mills, N.J., daughter Lisa Monroe (Carl), of Trenton, N.J., son Louis Sexton (Charlene) of West Creek, N.J., daughter Barbie Gafgen, and daughter Kim Sarafian, along with 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.Father we entrust Richard F. Gafgen to your mercy.  You loved him greatly in this life; now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever.  Welcome him now into Paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.  Amen.  Cremation will be private.  WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 134 EAST MAIN ST., TUCKERTON, N.J. is handling the arrangements.
