Catherine Quigley

CATHERINE GILMARTIN QUIGLEY, 91, of Tuckerton, NJ, passed peacefully on March 21, 2026.  She was born in Govan Glasgow, Scotland.  Catherine was one of nine children born to Molly and Michael.  In 1954 she married the love of her life Dennis.  Several years later they set off with their little girls to America.  After settling in Kearny (where all Scots go!) they soon left for the “country” to Butler.  By that time their family had grown to six children.  Her and Dennis had a wonderful life together until sadly he passed in 2006.  It was Cathie’s strong Catholic Faith that got her through losing her rock.  It was also this faith that sustained her when she lost her son, Chris and daughter Angela.  She is survived by her children, Denise, Kathleen, Tim (Ellen), and Gerri.  Also survived by eleven grandchildren Erin (Chris), Candy, Mark (Rachel), Emily (Colton), Liam, Aidan, Chloe, Heather (Zack), Aileen, Michael and Kevin.  She was fortunate to also have ten great-grandchildren including Molly, Christian, Declan, and Alistair, with whom she had a special bond.  She was known to love a “wee gamble”, a game of Bingo and a “wee goldie”.  Her Rosary Beads and Prayer Book accompanied her everywhere.  She was the most unselfish person ever and literally prayed all day for others.  She lived her life with a quiet strength.  Her family, friends and faith were everything to her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 9:30 AM, at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, 450 Radio Rd., Little Egg Harbor, NJ, with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beachview Ave., Manahawkin, NJ., 08050.
