David Willox Obituary

David G. Willox (68) of Little Egg Harbor, NJ. passed away at his home on April 25, 2021 after a long hard battle with cancer.  He was born July 29, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY.

Dave served in the Navy as a Personnel Clerk.  He was praised by his commanding officers for his attention to detail, work ethic, and leadership abilities.  After the Navy, David settled in Little Egg Harbor as a self-employed mechanic.  Dave found a passion for anything with an engine.  He enjoyed working on diesel trucks, fixing up classic cars, and racing boats offshore.

Dave took great pride in his 1973 Caprice Classic convertible.  He enjoyed showing it off at car shows and driving in parades.  He was a gentle giant, and had the magic touch with babies.  He also had a great love for animals, especially his beloved shop dog Trix.  Dave was a staple on the dance floor at any family gathering.  He was a man of few words, but when he spoke people listened.  His words were often laced with sarcasm and wit, like a true Scottsman.  He took great pride in his Scottish and Irish heritage.  For years Dave competed in the games emblematic of Scotland, the caber toss among the many that he enjoyed at the Scottish Festival yearly at the Garden State Arts Center.  Among many of his other talents his children and grandchildren will always cherish his abilities to conquer any claw machine he met.  He had a great ability to dominate the claw and win.  This often ended in trips home from arcades with arms full of stuffed animals.

David is predeceased by his parents, Bridget Catherine and Vincent Willox, beloved sister Roseanne Ryan, and great-nephew Johnny Schober.  He is survived by his sisters Theresa Willox and Katie Connors-Fogel.  His children Shawn (Sara) Willox, Kathleen (Bryan) Curtis, Pamela (Bradley) Iseminger, Craig Fogel, and Mary Catherine Connors-Fogel.  Step daughters Lisa Ramos, and Lisa Stewart, and grandchildren Amanda Ramos, Becca Pratt, Kyra Stewart, Sarah Curtis, Joshua Iseminger, Tavis Willox, William Curtis, Ethan Willox, Olivia Iseminger, and Eleanor Willox.  Former spouses Carol Schoenberger and Janet Willox.

Visitation is Thursday, April 29, from 2-4PM, at Wood Funeral Home, 134 East Main St. Tuckerton, NJ.  Funeral Mass will be 10AM, Thursday, July 15, at St. Mary’s, 100 Bishop Way, Manahawkin, NJ. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, N Green St, Tuckerton, NJ.  Repast will follow.
