Dorothy Ann Mullen Kennedy, RN Little Egg Harbor Township, NJ – Dorothy Ann Mullen Kennedy, RN, age 88, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025.
Born in Cohoes, New York, Dorothy grew up in Albany, NY, and Brockton, MA. She attended Vincentian Institute in Albany and pursued her calling in nursing at St. Peter’s Nursing College, dedicating her life to the care and well-being of others.
Dorothy married the love of her life, John W. Kennedy, Sr., in 1961, and together they built a beautiful life filled with family, love, and adventure. Throughout the years, they lived in various states before settling in Medford, NJ, in 1979. In 2003, Dorothy retired to Little Egg Harbor, NJ, where she enjoyed her later years surrounded by family and friends.
She was the beloved daughter of Arthur L. Mullen, Sr. and Louise Mullen (née Colello). Dorothy was predeceased by her brother, Arthur Leo Mullen and her beloved husband.

Dorothy was a proud and loving grandmother to Kate (Elio), Anne (Joseph), Jean Marie, Sean, Brennan, Ryan (Sammy), Tim, Lauren (Zach), Ashley, Sebastian, Aidan, Madeline, Kiera, Johanna, John, Jenna, and Clare. Her love extended to her great-grandchildren: Arthur, William, Bentley, Beatrix, Blakely, and Charlotte.
Dorothy is survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Dorothy will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her compassionate heart, and her dedication to nursing. She had a deep love for her children and grandchildren, always offering wisdom, kindness, and an open heart.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at St. Mary of the Pines in Manahawkin, NJ on Friday, March 21, 2025. A viewing will be held at 10:30AM with Mass at 11AM. Burial and Repast to follow.
Dorothy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
