Earl Gardner Jr. Obituary

EARL W. Gardner JR., 80, of New Gretna and former longtime resident of Tabernacle, N.J., passed December 3, 2022.  Earl was born on June 12, 1942 in Middleborough, MA.  He was predeceased by his parents Earl W. Gardner Sr. and Phyllis LeBaron Gardner, also sisters Arlene Foulds, Nancy Kerkoff (Tom) and Judy Gardner.  Earl was also predeceased by his former wife, Helen Sampsel Gardner Frazier.  He is survived by their children Deanna Lyon (John), Audrey Gardner (John), Earl Gardner III (Megan), their grandchildren Shane Lyon (Brittany), Anna Lyon (Nick), Shelby Lyon (Brianna), Jacob Lyon, Tim Lyon (Brittney), Karlie Schiller and Cory Schiller, and great-granddaughter Brynn (Shane and Brittany).  Earl attended West Chester University and graduated with a degree in physical education.  He was a gymnast in college and one of the first male cheerleaders at the university.  Earl spent many years working for the YMCA, but then began a business designing custom kitchens specializing in custom countertops.  He also worked for many years at Home Depot as a kitchen designer from where he eventually retired to spend time enjoying his life.  Earl enjoyed spending time with his family and often had his grandchildren fishing and camping.  He enjoyed his boat, riding his motorcycle and watching NASCAR.  He loved his camping family at Pilgrim Lake and all of his friends at Lower Bank Tavern.  Especially spending time with his best buddy Jimmy Whitehead.  A Celebration of Life will be held February 4, 2023 at 1 PM at the Lower Bank Tavern, 1509 Route 542, Egg Harbor City, N.J.  Kindly RSVP to JLYONCC1@aol.com so we can make proper arrangements.  WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 134 EAST MAIN ST., TUCKERTON, N.J. is handling the arrangements.
