COWPERTHWAITE, ELEANOR JULIA, 101, of Tuckerton, NJ, passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, May 3, 2025. She was born in Leektown, NJ, in 1923 to the late Warren and Verna Wiseman.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Douglas W. Cowperthwaite, brother Stanley Wiseman of Tennessee, and son-in-law Bernard Eiben Rocheskey of Tuckerton. She is survived by her son Doug Cowperthwaite and wife Beverly, of Bass River Twp., NJ, daughter Dorothy Rocheskey, of Tuckerton, NJ, five grandsons, Don, Harry, Douglas, Brian, and Jason, twelve great-grandchildren, Dylan, Lauren, Paige, Jakob, Emily, Douglas, Samuel, Eloise, Amelia, Tristan, Bristol, and Gabriel, and three great-great grandchildren, Austin, Logan and Noah. She is also survived by her niece, Ruthann McSwain of Tennessee, and cousins, Patti Groff, Dr. Deborah Buzby-Cope, and Nikita Cope.
After a childhood growing up in Leektown and New Gretna, she moved to Tuckerton after marriage. Eleanor and her late husband Douglas Waugh Cowperthwaite enjoyed their lives together as residents of Tuckerton since 1945. Services will be private. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 134 EAST MAIN ST., TUCKERTON, NJ is handling the arrangements.
