Elizabeth Armstrong

ARMSTRONG, ELIZABETH, 96, of Little Egg Harbor, N.J., passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin.  Betty was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, John Armstrong, and her parents W.M. Erle Clayton and Marian Clayton, and her brother, William Clayton Jr.  She had no children.   Betty was born in Atlantic City, N.J., but her family relocated to Newark, N.J., in 1941 where she graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1945 from South Side High School.  After a year at Upsala College, East Orange, N.J., she met and married John Armstrong in February, 1948.  John was President and co-owner of Delta Engineering and Conditioning, Co. and later, his own company, John Armstrong, Inc.  She was employed at Schering Plough Pharmaceutical Company in Human Resources for 20 years.  She retired in 1983 as Corporate Benefits Assistant.  Betty was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tuckerton.  There will be no funeral but a brief graveside service at West Creek Cemetery, on Tuesday July 2, 2024 at 10:30 AM.
