Elizabeth (Verna) Gilley, 101, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother

Mrs. Gilley was born in Morristown, NJ, raising her family in Madison NJ, before retiring to Spring Hill FL and then returning to NJ upon the death of her husband. She retired from Morristown Memorial Hospital where she was a Registered Nurse and St. Vincent’s Church where she was the School Nurse and Librarian.  She was a Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit # 43, and a member of the Mountainside Hospital Alumni Association – Class of 1942.

Mrs. Gilley was predeceased by her husband, Howard F. Gilley, her parents Harry and Madeline Marooney, her sisters, Mary Markey (Frank), Jean Farrell (Thomas), her children, Kenneth Gilley, Stephen Gilley, daughter-in-law Jane Gilley, daughter-in-law Kathy Weiss-Gilley, and grandson, Patrick Gilley.

She is survived by her children, David Gilley, of Manchester Twp, NJ, Kathleen Roman (Andy), of the Long Valley section of Washington Township; daughter-in-law Diane Gilley of Wilmington, NC, four grandchildren, Laura Gilley-Meininger (Glenn), Jake, Jessica and Samantha Roman, five great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial Service is being planned for Early Fall.
