Elsie Heinrichs Obituary

HEINRICHS, ELSIE VIRGINIA, 83, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026.  She was born in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  A beautiful soul who saw the beauty and humor in everything life threw her way.  She was a woman of great determination and compassion.  No matter the situation, she would find the silver lining and famously remark, “I had to laugh.”  Her ability to find joy in the small things made her a light to everyone who knew her.

She instilled in her sons the deep value of hard work, leading by example when she returned to school later in life to pursue her calling in nursing.  She dedicated her career to comforting others as a hospice nurse, providing peace and dignity to families during their most difficult moments.  After retiring alongside her husband, Ed, in Florida, she spent the last 12 years in New Jersey, where she remained a constant source of warmth, humor, and strength and resilience for her family.

Mom was the most beautiful Mother anyone could even ask God for!  She always was everyone’s Mom, in the neighborhood as we were growing up.  All our friends wanted to always be over our house.  Mom was wonderful like that, and she loved to cook.  She was the Best at that, no one came close!  I know she is with our Lord, and we will always miss her!

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward N. Heinrichs, her sons Brian and Wade, and a lifetime of friends who will never forget her radiant spirit.  Her light will continue to shine in the many lives she touched.

She is survived by her sons, Mark Schellenberger and Hal Schellenberger, and her two cherished grandchildren, Joshua and Justin, who carry forward her lessons of resilience and laughter.
