Esther Venezia Obituary

Esther Adams Venezia, 93, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Hackensack Meridian Hospital on April 21, 2026 from complications resulting from a stroke. She was born February 8,1933 in Princeton, NJ.

Esther grew up in Bound Brook, NJ with her parents, Dr. Frederic Henry and Doris Sanborn Adams along with her siblings Frederic and Doris, Esther being the eldest of the three.

Esther was a graduate of Bound Brook HS. Esther met her husband of 66 years while bowling at a local bowling alley while still in high school.  Mike and Esther had their first date sharing blueberry pie which was a recurring theme over the years.

After graduating with a degree in Retail Management from Stephens College in Missouri, Esther started her career working for Sterns in NYC where she shared an apartment with 3 of her best friends.   During this time her future husband, Mike Venezia was serving in the US Navy.

Esther and Mike married in 1954 and went on to carve out a beautiful life.  First living in a tiny apartment in Brockton, MA. near the Naval Base. After Mikes military service was complete the couple moved to South Plainfield, NJ where they started their family and Mike started his business, TRIMECH a HVAC company based in Paramus, NJ. Esther worked as a secretary at the Presbyterian Church in Bound Brook while Mike was getting his business off the ground.   Later the family moved to Oakland, NJ and shared fun summers in Barnegat Light on Long Beach Island, NJ where many wonderful memories were made.

Esther lived a wonderful life, always thinking of others before herself up until her dying day. Esther served as a volunteer at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ and later, after retiring and moving “down the shore” both she and Mike volunteered for 20 years at Southern Ocean County Hospital (SOCH) now called Hackensack Meridian Hospital located in Manahawkin, NJ. She was always involved with fund raising for the hospital.

In addition to Esthers volunteering and fundraising, she also enjoyed playing tennis and walking in Barnegat Light, ballroom dancing, knitting, reading and has always had a fondness for a good game of bridge with her friends!

Esthers kindness and thoughtfulness touched so many lives everywhere she went and made a lasting impression on all who knew her even if they only knew her for a short while.  She will be greatly missed.

Esther was predeceased by her brother Frederic Adams, her husband Michael Venezia, and her son in law Col. John W. Conley.

Esther was survived by her loving family.
