Gwendoline M. Burton

BURTON, GWENDOLINE M. (GWEN), 82, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025, peacefully at home. She was born in Philadelphia, PA. Gwen worked as a cook for several years at George J.Mitchell Elementary School and co-owner of Burton’s Marina. She was also a professional cake decorator and taught at Pinelands Adult School. She was a member of the Eagleswood Fire Company #52 Ladies Auxiliary, serving for many years and was one of five women who went to school to be a volunteer firefighter during the 1970’s. Gwen enjoyed camping with her family especially in Jamestown, Virginia, watching her son race at Wall Stadium, snowbirding to Florida, crafting, and having tea with friends.

Gwen is survived by her husband of 61 years, George (Skip) Burton, daughter Lisa Burton-Fiorentino and husband Angelo, of Lanoka Harbor, NJ, son Gary Burton and wife Jill, of Port Republic, NJ, daughter Darra Stack and husband William, of Manahawkin, NJ, along with grandchildren Haley (Marshall), Robert (Elizabeth), Carly, Allison, Angela, Julia, and great-grandchildren Larson and Colton, and many other extended family. She was predeceased by her brother Edward Hilton.
