SKEIE, HALVOR B. “SONNY”, 90, of Tuckerton, N.J., passed away Monday, August 5, 2024, at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center, Galloway, N.J. He was born in Ship Bottom, N.J., and was a lifelong area resident. Sonny was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving from 1953-1957. He worked for 35 years as a subway supervisor for New Jersey Bell, Manahawkin. Sonny was a member of Lodge #4, and served as past Master, he served on Tuckerton School Board for 24 years, volunteered for the Tuckerton Seaport, coached Little League, and Youth Basketball also. He was an avid decoy carver and was a past winner of the Hurley Conklin Award.
Sonny was predeceased by his parents Harry and Christine Skeie, mother and father-in-law Elmer and Roe Mott, along with several other loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joy Skeie, son Steve Skeie and wife Carrie Lee, of Tuckerton, N.J., daughters Sonja Skeie-King, of Tuckerton, N.J., Krista Zimmerman and husband Todd, of Hypoluxo, FL., brother Bruce Skeie, of Vero Beach, FL., along with grandchildren Steven, Ryan, Zackary, and Kasidy, and many nieces and nephews, Billy Mott, Dotti Clarke, Joel Mott and wife Karen, Vicki Hack and husband John, Dave Mott and wife Diane, Bob O’Neill, and extended family.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 2-5 PM, and Monday, August 12, 2024, from 11 AM until the Service at 12 PM, at WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 134 EAST MAIN ST., TUCKERTON, N.J. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, N. Green St., Tuckerton, N.J. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to First Methodist Church of Tuckerton, or Tuckerton Seaport.
