John S. Allen

Allen, John S. (Johnny), 70, of New Gretna, NJ, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026, peacefully with his partner by his side.  He was born in Atlantic City, NJ, and was a lifelong area resident.  John worked as a Sanitation Engineer for Little Egg Harbor Public Works. 

John enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to music and playing solitaire in his older years.  He also loved watching his favorite sports teams play…Atlanta Braves, Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Lakers.  His transistor radio gave him great joy listening to Jon Courson, Hope FM.

John was predeceased by his parents Jim and Betty Allen, and his brother Butch Allen.  He is survived by his partner Gerri Sullivan, his son Scott W. Allen, of Cleveland, TX, daughter, Stephanie Sullivan, of Nokomis, FL, son Jonathan Sullivan, of New Gretna, NJ, brothers James Allen and wife Debbie, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, Russ Allen and wife Kathy, of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ, and Tom Allen and wife Jane, of New Gretna, NJ, along with grandchildren Scott Jr., Dane, and Jonathan Jr., and several nieces and nephews, also his beloved cat Kit-Kat. 

Family and Friends may gather Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 10 AM – 12 PM, with a service at 12 PM, at WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 134 EAST MAIN ST., TUCKERTON, NJ.
