John Gasowski Obituary

On Saturday, August 28, 2021, John Lloyd Gasowski, loving husband and father of three, passed away at the age of 75.  John was born on January 15, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY to John Ignatius and Melba (Knight) Gasowski.  After graduating from Bellport High School in 1964, he joined the military at the age of eighteen.  John was a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he earned the rank of Specialist Five and served active duty in the Vietnam War.  During his time in the service, John earned a degree in Radiation Technology and served as an x-ray technician in a medical evac hospital in Tuy Hoa, Vietnam.   Upon return, he married his high school sweetheart, Antonia (Marrazzo) and had three children, John T., Steven, and Carolyn.  In 1978, he joined Eastman Kodak as a Technical Sales Representative.  His time with Kodak brought him and his family to territories in Portland, ME, Buffalo, NY, Pittsburgh, PA and finally Southern New Jersey where he retired as National Channel Manager in 2005.  In retirement he pursued his lifelong love of boating and fishing.                                                    He is survived by his wife, Antonia and brothers James (Gloria) Gasowski and Jerry (Denise) Gasowski, children John T. Gasowski, Steven (Heather) Gasowski, Carolyn (Charles) Skillman, and grandchildren Douglas Gasowski, Cole Skillman, Madeline Gasowski, Jackson Skillman, Lilly Gasowski and Noah Gasowski. John and Antonia (Toni) were married 53 years and would have celebrated their 54th anniversary on September 10, 2021.  There will be a viewing from 7:00-9:00pm on Wednesday, September 1st at WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 134 EAST MAIN ST.,TUCKERTON, N.J.   A second viewing will be held on Friday September 3rd on Long Island, NY from 9:00-10:30am at Robertaccio Funeral Home in Patchogue.  Mass will follow at 11:00am at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church in East Patchogue, NY.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Deborah Heart and Lung Center: https://www.deborahfoundation.org/donate/
