John Levy Obituary

LEVY, JOHN C., age 60, passed away with his loving family by his side at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin on Tuesday April 26, 2022. John was born on January 16, 1962 in Brooklyn, NY. He resided there until moving to Little Egg Harbor at the age of 9 years old. He was a retired Corrections Officer from Mid State Prison, Fort Dix, NJ. John will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor and had an uncanny way of making people laugh with his witty comments and impersonations. He loved music and was known for his legendary dance moves. He loved watching movies and was notorious for quoting lines from them. John was extremely popular and outgoing. He loved to socialize and made friends everywhere he went. He loved all animals, loved to play pinochle, Joker Poker at the Borgata, and appreciated a perfectly made Sicilian pizza (cooked well-done). John’s legacy lies with his love for sports. A devoted die-hard fan of the NY Rangers, Mets, Jets and Knicks. He attended many games with friends and family, always checking scores on his phone when he wasn’t able to watch on tv. It brought him great joy to taunt his friends who were fans of rival teams. Most of all John was a kind and loving soul. He was a loyal man who loved his family with all of his heart, especially his children who he always said were his world. John was predeceased by his father Joseph Levy, and nephew Michael DePinto. He is survived by his wife Kelly married 28 years, daughter Corinne Levy, and son Jonathan Levy, mother Joyce Levy and step-father Ralph Capo, brother Joseph Levy (Barbara Hughes), sisters June Lukasiuk (Russell) and Janet Minetti (David),sisters-in-law Sherry DePinto, Kimberly Grande (Joseph) and Karen Ford (Richard), mother-in-law Arline Romagnoli, father-in-law John DePola (Anne) and his niece/Goddaughter Sarah DePinto.  Visitation will be Sunday, May 1, 2022, 2-4 PM and 7-8:45 PM, with a service at 8:45 PM at WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 134 EAST MAIN ST., TUCKERTON, N.J.
