June LeMunyon Obituary

June Edna LeMunyon, age 101, of Tuckerton Borough, passed away on April 2, 2026.  Born in Audubon, NJ, to Katherine Edna and Daniel O’Neill, June moved to Tuckerton when she was in the second grade and became a lifelong resident thereafter.

A passionate and diligent steward of the town’s history, June was an early member and eventually long-time president of the Tuckerton Historical Society. After the society’s acquisition of the Giffordtown Schoolhouse, June spearheaded its transformation into a museum to preserve Tuckerton history. She spent thousands of hours restoring and improving the schoolhouse interior, as it had been in a state of disrepair when the Leitz family gifted it to the Historical Society in 1977. June worked to fill the building with exhibits chronicling the most fascinating aspects of Tuckerton’s past, and the Giffordtown Schoolhouse Museum opened to the public in 1982. She served as museum curator for many years, and continued as a mentor to anyone interested in Tuckerton history for the rest of her long life.

June’s passion for history expanded into her love of antiques, and she helmed the Clamtown Antique Flea Market for over 20 years, which expanded to more than 140 dealers through her hard work and tireless advocacy.

June was predeceased by her parents, Katherine and Daniel O’Neill Jr., her brothers, John O’Neill and Daniel O’Neill III, and her husband, Harvey LeMunyon. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Francis, her granddaughter, Jennifer Francis, and her brother, Robert “Bob” O’Neill.

Per June’s wishes, services will be private.
