FLYNN, KATHLEEN P., 82, of Beach Haven, N.J., passed away Monday, September 2, 2024, at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City, N.J. She was born in Springfield, N.J., residing in Cranford, NJ, and Medford, NJ, until moving to Beach Haven in 1979. Kathy, along with her husband Bob Flynn, was the owner of Ocean View Court Motel in North Beach Haven, NJ for seven years. Kathy (and Bob) was a winter resident of Eaglewood community in Hobe Sound, FL since 2003. Kathy was a longtime parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Long Beach Island, and St. Christopher’s Church, Hobe Sound, FL. She was a Eucharistic minister for St Francis Parish. She was active in prayer groups in both NJ and FL. She was a member of the Council of Catholic women (Hobe Sound, FL) for which she was a past treasurer. She had many friends and enjoyed a variety of social events including mahjong and captain of her bocci team. Kathy was quick with a smile and would often be heard laughing with family, friends, and neighbors and especially at Bob’s many jokes. Kathy loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to keep up with all they were doing and their various adventures. Kathleen is predeceased by her daughter Irene Elizabeth (Flynn) Sommer. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bob Flynn, of Beach Haven NJ, sons Brian Flynn (Carl), of Little Egg Harbor NJ, and Murphy Flynn (AnneLouise) of Beach Haven Crest, NJ, along with grandchildren Colleen (Marc Dunn), Erin, Maura, Craig (Elisa), Christopher (Nikki), Kelly Lundsten (Dave) and great grandchildren Hailey, Michael, Colin, Sage, Olivia and Emelie. A mass will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Beach Haven at 1:30 pm on Saturday, September 14th. Gathering will begin at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Beach Have First Aid Squad whose members have responded to the call of service to the community.
