Linda Reddington Obituary

REDDINGTON, LINDA LOU, 81, of Little Egg Harbor, N.J., passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at home.  She was born and raised in Ridgewood, N.J.  She was the daughter of the late Lucille Jeanette and Gerald Francis Reddington.  Linda graduated from Ridgewood High School and William Paterson University, with a B.A. in Arts and Teaching.  She attended the Ridgewood School of Art, the Newark School of Fine Arts and The Arts Student’s League in New York City.  Linda worked for the Oxford University Press for 15 years.  After moving to Manahawkin, N.J., she worked at the Times Beacon, first as the Life Style Editor and then later as the Managing Editor.  She was both a writer and photographer for the paper.  Her column, “My Two Cents” was enjoyed by many readers.  Linda was a long time member of the Pine Shores Art Association and her paintings are displayed in many venues and historical buildings.  She sometimes combined her art with photography in computer generated pictures and posters.  Linda was an author and illustrator of poetry and children’s fiction.  She also published a novel, Lucy’s Boys, set in the treasure coast of Florida, where she loved to visit.  Linda is survived by her brother, Gerald Francis Jr., and his wife Sharyn Reddington, as well as many cousins and friends who enjoyed her humor, kindness and artistic abilities.  In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to the Beach Haven Historical Association and the Maritime Museum also in Beach Haven.  WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 134 EAST MAIN ST., TUCKERTON, N.J. is handling the arrangements.  As per Linda’s request there will be no services.
