Maria O Lenzi

LENZI, MARIA O., 84, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Parker at Somerset, Somerset, N.J.  She was born in Fiano, Lucca, Italy in 1937 to Palmira Perfetti and Massimo DiGiovanni.  Maria married Orlando Lenzi in 1961, and left for the USA to start her new life and family.  She worked as a seamstress and sewing machine operator and later in life became a certified home health aide.  Maria loved to cook and garden and spend time with her family and friends.  She was well known and loved for her meatballs and lasagna.  Maria enjoyed singing, searching for antiques and reading romance novels.  She always gave of herself and was known to take care of all creatures small and large, in need of help.  Maria was predeceased by her husband Orlalndo in 2000.  She is survived by her son John Lenzi, and daughter-in-law Corine, daughter Susan Stern, and son-in-law Michael, three grandsons Nicholas, Jeremy and Zachery.  Visitation will be Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 10-11 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM, at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, 450 Radio Rd., Little Egg Harbor, N.J.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, N. Green St., Tuckerton.  WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 134 EAST MAIN ST., TUCKERTON, N.J. is handling the arrangements.  The family is requesting in lieu of flowers, to make memorial donations to South Jersey Horse Rescue (southjerseyhorserescue.com).
