Marie A DiPietro

 It is with great sadness that the family of Marie Agnes Barbara DiPietro announce her passing on March 1, 2025 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Virginia Beach, VA where she resided. Marie was born in Jersey City N.J. to Joseph and Lenore Simonetti.

Marie and her husband Bart DiPietro married in 1970 and resided in Bayonne N.J until moving “down the shore” to Mystic Island N.J in 1979. They were both involved in their community and enjoyed the shore life with their family until retiring to Virginia Beach in 2002. Marie worked in Medical Records at Bayonne hospital. She also worked for her husband keeping the books in his HVAC business for many years. When they relocated to Virginia Beach with their poodles Chewie and Gi Gi, they enjoyed picking up bowling again which they both loved from their younger years and Marie worked as a receptionist in a hair salon where she was well loved and fit in well. Marie was a strong woman who persevered through life's ups and downs with grace. She was a fierce supporter of her family and would do what it took to keep everyone safe, happy and together. Marie’s family is very grateful for the continued good care that she received over the years at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in the Iris unit. She will be missed by many.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Lenore Simonetti, her brother Nicholas Simonetti, husband Bart DiPietro and step son Bart DiPietro Jr. She is survived by her son Dennis DiPietro and daughter in law Jodi DiPietro, her daughter Joy Rios and son in law Ralph Rios, her son Joseph DiPietro and daughter in law Kristin DiPietro, her brother Joseph Simonetti and sisters in law Jennifer Simonetti and Theresa Simonetti. Marie is also survived by her 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Service for Marie will be Saturday, March 8th at Wood Funeral home at 134 East Main Street Tuckerton viewing from 10:00- 1:00 with a service at 1:00PM, committal at Greenwood Cemetery.
