Marie Disbrow Obituary

Marie Evelyn Disbrow (Breuer), 92, of Tuckerton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family in the early morning of September 28, 2025.  A pillar of gentle strength, kindness and contentment, she reveled in her role as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, beloved aunt & loyal friend.

As the CEO (Chief Encouragement Officer) and memory maker for the entire & extended Disbrow family, Marie would almost daily ask, “What Can I Do For You?”.  She set the gold standard for letter writing (a lost art) and was known for sending caring cards, photos & creative quips to others throughout her life… in times of loss, celebration, milestone, or simply just ‘thinking of you’.  She wrote to those near & far, and was a relationship builder who made everyone feel special and never forgotten.  She touched so many who have a story of her thoughtfulness.

Marie & her husband Harry, both licensed Realtors, opened BayShore Agency Real Estate in 1967 and were the ultimate partners in marriage, business & life.   Marie was a photographer, writer, poet, voracious reader, volunteer & traveler.  She loved dancing, jitterbugging & playing pinochle with her sisters, listening to music, drinking coffee any time of day and collecting seashells along the shoreline early in the morning.  She enjoyed sunsets anywhere, ice cream for lunch and never declined a last minute dinner invitation - even when something was already cooking in the oven.  One of her favorite sayings…”Along the Way, Take Time to Smell the Flowers” is a beautiful reminder of Marie’s suggested way to live life.

Most importantly, Marie was a woman who consistently lived out her strong faith & reliance on our Lord & Heavenly Father…weaving that faith repeatedly & effortlessly throughout the beautiful tapestry of what was her full & well lived life.

Marie was born & raised in Mayfair, Philadelphia, PA & summered with her family in their Harvey Cedars cottage.  She married, spent several years in Pensacola Florida while her Harry served in the Navy, and moved to Tuckerton in 1957…which was in her own words, “a great place to raise the kids.”

Marie is survived by her 4 children & their spouses: Harry Disbrow III (Diane), Donna Rongo (Jeff), Daphne Keller (Tom), David Disbrow (Jeri),  7 grandchildren:  Lauren McGoldrick (Ray Sr), Jessica Mullin (Brian), Jenna Karch (Corey), Kristen Keller, Daniel Disbrow (Kinga), Emily Tarnow (Erik), Rachel Grundy (Edward) 12 great grandchildren (aka her ‘lovebugs’):  Ray Jr., Luke, Aidan, Maelyn, Graydon, Cameron, Avery, Isla, Adeline, Levi, Lucy and one on the way; Julia, her wonderful caregiver for the past 4 years, and countless cousins, nieces & nephews.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Harry in 2023, grandsons David Jr. & Brian, her parents George & Elsie Breuer and her sisters, Elsie & Elaine (the Breuer girls).
