SCHICK, PHILIP F., 93, of Little Egg Harbor, N.J., passed away peacefully at home, on Friday, December 11, 2020. He was born July 7, 1927, in Staten Island, N.Y. Philip started to decline from a fall following his crossing on the Queen Mary II, in August, 2019, with his Naval Reserve Cryptology Group to visit Bletchley Park, England. He led Naval Reserve Cryptology team, was a U.S. WWII Veteran, and experienced an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. with other Vets in spring 2015, was a “Friend of the US Naval Reserves”. After 46 years of service he retired as a Captain in a service held on the USS Intrepid in 1987. Philip was Deputy Mayor of Scotch Plains, N.J., and a retired Industrial Gas Executive. He was a lifelong friend to Wagner College, and John Nobel Museum. Philip was loving husband to Alice Evans Schick, father to Susan Galligan of New York City and Jacqueline Schick of New Orleans, LA., grandfather to Teddy Galligan and wife Alexa Polachi Galligan, Mendam, N.J., Philip Galligan and fiancé Stephanie Leinbach of Chicago, IL.
