Rosanne C Besse

Rosanne Besse, 83, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, beloved wife for over 56 years to John A. Besse, revered mother of 4, and “fun grandma” to 8 grandchildren, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, April 25, 2023.

Rosanne was born August 29th, 1939, In Staten Island, NY, to Thomas and Mary Sullivan. She graduated from Port Richmond High School and worked for Sears Roebuck Company for several years before her marriage to John in April 1967 and starting her journey as a dedicated homemaker soon thereafter.  She put her all into her family- maintaining a warm and comfortable home while always setting the example of how to achieve balance between her role as a mother and as a woman of her own identity.   She loved to cook, entertain, and decorate, taking special interest in sharing recipes, ideas, or opinions with whomever showed interest. She was a masterful gardener whose assistance was sought by friends, family, and even a local nursery from time to time.  She loved the beach, the ocean, and all things nautical, especially the Outer Banks of North Carolina where she enjoyed visiting with her husband and family for over 40 years.

Aside from her husband John, Rosanne is survived by her brothers Tommy and Danny,  four children John, Christine, Lisa and Dina, and grandchildren Alexandra and Claudia Besse, Cali and Stephen Purul,  Robert and Keira Knapp and Abbie and Steven Amato.
