It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Leonard Booth, who left us on December 9, 2025. Scott was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, beloved son and a fiercely loyal friend to many. His presence brought warmth, humor, and steadiness to all who knew him.
Scott was born in Paterson, NJ, and lifelong resident of Little Egg Harbor lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, and a genuine love for his family. Known by many as "Scoot", he worked as a butcher for over 40 years, creating a career that would not only support his growing family but cement him as one of the local cornerstones of the community to both locals and the many tourists visiting our area. When Scott wasn't at work, he was an exceptionally skilled hunter, trapper, and marksman, using his passion as yet another way to balance his fun with a way to feed and support his family and friends. Aside from hunting, Scott loved the outdoors, his motorcycles, and always had his hand in a new project around the house. Though, nothing brought him more joy than his family. Scott was a devoted father and husband who made sure his family had everything they needed and more, and as the years passed, nothing brought him more joy than the whole crew gathering together under one roof. He was a man of few words to many, but his kind actions and gestures spoke volumes to almost anyone who came to know him over the years.
Scott was predeceased by his father, Robert. He leaves behind his mother, Dorothy; his devoted wife of 39 years, Wendy; his beloved children, Jason (Nicole), Kyle (Katie), and Jarrett (Catherine); and his precious grandchildren: Emerson, Harrison, Benjamin, Charles, and a baby girl, soon to join the family. He is also survived by his brother, Robert, and sister-in-law, Mary. Scott also leaves behind his beloved pets: Sophie, Silas, Odysseus, Gus, and Bird, as well as his grand-pups, all of whom brought exceptional joy to his life.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 4:30 pm at Wood Funeral Home in Tuckerton, with a gathering of family and friends starting at 2:00 pm. All who knew and loved Scott are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jetty Rock Foundation in Scott's honor: https://jettyrockfoundation.org/
Scott will be forever remembered for his kindness, his humor, and the unwavering love he had for his family. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and the legend of "Scoot" will never be forgotten.
