Perna, Terry Jordan, May 9, 1931-June 21, 2021. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Manahawkin resident, lived in Maplewood, Marlboro, and Hillsborough NJ. Terry was born in Newark, NJ to Ames and Rose Jordan on May 9, 1931. She was raised in Newark and lived most of her adult life in Maplewood, NJ. In 1952 she married the love of her life, Patrick Perna, Sr, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage before Patrick’s passing in 2002. She was an employee of Endocrine & Diabetics Association of Livingston for 21 years where she performed various duties and retired as office manager. As a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Maplewood, Terry was very active in her church which included teaching catechism at the parish school. She was a member of the Maplewood Jr Women’s Club, Tuscan school PTA where she served as President, and UNICO of Maplewood. Terry made many lifelong friends through her civic activities. Terry was also a founding member of the “Wippitties” club which she and her friends formed during their years at Barringer High School in Newark. After graduating high school, they remained close friends as they continued to meet once a week for over 60 years. Terry was predeceased by her beloved husband Patrick Perna, Sr., parents Ames and Rose Jordan, brother Ames Giordano and sister Dolores D’Amato. She is survived by her children Patrick Jr. and his wife Kathleen, Robert and his wife Lisa, John and his wife Dalia, Thomas and his wife Patricia, brother Robert Jordan Sr., 11 grandchildren Christine and her husband Jason, Nicholas and his wife Paulina, Alexander, Samantha, Lauren, Robert, Andrew, Joseph, Rosemarie, Anthony and Michelle, and great granddaughter Everly.
