THORNTON, THOMAS J. JR., 75, of Little Egg Harbor, N.J., passed away Monday, March 27, 2023, at home. He was born in New York, N.Y., residing in Keansburg, N.J., and New Gretna, N.J. prior to moving to Little Egg Harbor, N.J. Thomas was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War Era from 1966-1970. He worked as a general contractor for J & A Construction, Keyport, N.J.
Thomas was predeceased by his wife Louise Thornton (nee Rooney) in 2022. He is survived by his sons Thomas J. Thornton III, and his wife Danielle, of Little Egg Harbor, N.J., and John Thornton, of Little Egg Harbor, N.J., daughter Tara Thornton-Rutter, of Tuckerton, N.J., brothers William Thornton, and Joseph Thornton, sisters Mary Bane, Virginia Thornton, and Jacqueline Lorincie-Gaskill, along with grandchildren Jonty, Kayla, Thomas IV, Dillon and Taylor, and many nephews and nieces.
