Wayne D. Rutherford

RUTHERFORD, WAYNE D., 69, of Tuckerton, NJ, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, NJ.  He was born in Staten Island, NY, residing there during his adolescent years, moving to Tuckerton with his family in 1969.  Wayne worked for Tuckerton Borough Water & Sewer for 25+ years.  He loved hunting and fishing, and was an avid cook, and was always known to have a great sense of humor. 

Wayne is predeceased by his parents John and Faith Rutherford.  He is survived by his loving son Wayne Rutherford, long-time companion Jill Diehl, former wife Rosemarie Seymour,  brothers John “Scott” (Sybil) Rutherford, and Bruce (Charlotte) Rutherford, along with niece Alyssa, nephew Daniel, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

Family and friends may gather Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 12-2 PM, at WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 134 EAST MAIN ST., TUCKERTON, N.J.  Memorial Donations may be made in his name to Popcorn Park, Forked River, Ocean County Animal Shelter, Manahawkin, or the animal charity of your choice.
