ZARNOWSKI, IRENE E. “THE LUNCH LADY”, 84, of Little Egg Harbor, went peacefully to heaven while surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, November 27, at home. She was born in Harrison, N.J., residing in Kearny, N.J. prior to moving to Little Egg Harbor. She was a Food Server at Pinelands Regional School, and was lovingly referred to as “the lunch lady”. Irene was a member of St. Theresa’s R.C. Church, Little Egg Harbor, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, and also a member of Singletons of Mystic Shores.
Irene is predeceased by her husband Edward P. Zarnowski Sr., and daughter Mary Greene. She is survived by her daughter Jayne Z. Ziegler, of Little Egg Harbor, N.J., son Edward P. Zarnowski Jr., of Canton, PA., sister Janice Wiedmont, of Barnegat, N.J., and brother Stanley Tyburski, of Mays Landing, N.J. Grandchildren Joseph H. Greene Jr., Christen M. Vogel, Laina Irene Ziegler, M. Zachare Ziegler, Edward P. Zarnowski III, Nadia Zarnowski, Victoria Zarnowski, Caitlyn Zarnowski, Cailey Zarnowski, and Riley Zarnowski. Great-grandchildren Ryan Vogel, Kendall Greene, Joshua Greene, Ethan P. Vogel, and Audrey M. Vogel.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 1, from 2-4 PM, and 7-9 PM, and Friday, December 2, from 9:30-10:30 AM, at WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 134 EAST MAIN ST., TUCKERTON, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Friday, December 2, at 11 AM, at St. Theresa’s R.C. Church, 450 Radio Rd., Little Egg Harbor, N.J. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to St. Theresa's R.C. Church.
